As quite a few of you have alarmingly exclaimed to me; the April 26 cutoff date to get your order in, has passed. What does this mean? Well. We still have orders that we're processing and we still have wine that we're moving. During the last couple of weeks we may not have given everyone all the splits or Aldin Red that they wanted as we were running ahead with those items. Now, after we satisfy all the orders that came in on time, we'll fulfill all requests on a first come basis. We'll also determine what large format bottles were given up and redistribute those.

A few of the shippers have been running a little behind as they're so overwhelmed this time of year. I appreciate your all being patient with us as they catch up.

Now, I'll catch you all up on Sophia's progress:

"And then the rains came down..." But I sure don't know about the part about love being born. We set a record for days (not inches) of rain in the Napa Valley. Enough days were washed out to cure most tennis elbows. Meanwhile, Congress pushes to make it illegal to be an illegal allien. I wonder who they think will work harvest this year. Maybe it will be all those unemploywed high-tech engineers who's jobs were off-shored because they have better high school math teachers over there. Our family was lucky that, during the Civil War, the North needed cheap (and almost slave) immigrant labor, or our great-grandfather may have been sent back to Ireland in the barrel he stowed away in on that boat (possibly a ship).

And with the rains, the orders have come flooding in. Our invoiceing and charging is almost up to date. However, we have the shippers backed up a week or two. This happens every year as all the small wineries work through all the same small shippers to move wine through the bottleneck at the end of Napa Valley. Therefore, we'll hold off on invoiceing and charging a bit, to allow the shippers to catch up. Lucky for you all that our rains move east and keep you all in the shade.

In terms of allocating according to bottles, we've been farily generous in working to fulfill your requests. However, we are running a bit over our targets with the splits and the Aldin Red. So we will be watching those a bit closer now.

And now, to catch up with some pictures.
