. Returned from sipping wine in the waters of Lake Shasta's 110 degree heat to my home where we've had two days straight of 115 degrees and a faulty air conditioner. I may have to put up a cot at the warehouse where we store our wine. The St. Helena city council just formed a task force to see what they could do to stop global warming. But I hear they won't meet till next month. Oh well. The 2005 Aldin Chardonnay was bottled last week while I was gone. We should be getting our 2004 barrels in shortly. So it'll be a good time for you all to stop by. Thought I should also share with you the following picture. I had to go way up top to get some '05 Gary Morisoli for Mitch Woods and Roger Nabor. It's strange, but a lot of poeple say that cellar rats don't have a sense of humor. Sunday, July 09, 2006 . Most of you know about Cheryl's and my affinity for the blues and especially for our annual trip in the Caribbean aboard the Blues Cruise. Well, we were blessed recently with the docking of the Blues Cruise's Land Yacht in the Napa Valley. ![]() Mitch Woods, Me, and Roger Nabor Roger Nabor, the Blues Cruise Director, stopped by with his wife, Julia, and their two children. And, coincidentally, Mitch Woods was driving down the road and he just so happened to see the Land Yacht and followed it to our place. So it was a double treat for me. For those of you interested on joining us on the Blues Cruise, check them out at www.bluescruise.com. And while you're at it, check out Mitch Woods and his Rocket 88s at www.mitchwoods.com. He plays a boogie woogie piano that fills the room. We've been known to stay at his piano bar until breakfast. As you can see, both Roger and Mitch share an affinity for Karl Lawrence. The Caribbean cruise may be sold out. However, I understand that a few cabins are still available for the Blues Cruise along the Baja and Mexican coasts this October. We won't be on that one as it comes right on the heels of the San Francisco Blues Festival. However, many of our friends, both performers and cruisers will be there. It's like a 24/7 backstage pass to the best party on earth. . The St. Helena High School students turned out to be a pretty talented bunch. They were able to get me out of Thailand and return me home, safe and sound. I see now that we are totally out of 750s and mags. So they're no reasons to be asking for more. I hope to get the Reserve offering letter out by September 15. And for our people in the greater Chicago area; Michael will be wearing his Seqouia Grove hat at a dinner, July 13 at the Blue Water Grill. For reservations, call 800/338-7819. . |
