We instituted the Mason-Dixon Line strategy last year and will continue with it this year.  This means that we will send out the Offering Letters to the warmer areas in early to mid-February.  This takes advantage of the cooler temperatures there and allows us to utilize the smaller shippers when they don't have much to do.  This should also reduce shipping errors as this will lessen the high surge of wine shipping during the usual April/May shipping season.  By the way, the Mason-Dixon line extends from somewhere in Maryland and Virginia all the way out to the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Offering Letter to the cooler areas will go out in early to mid-March.

Reguests for large format bottles (3Ls & 6Ls) will be processed during the week that they are received and on a seniority basis for that batch.  So if you're the highest seniority person that week and one becomes available, then you'll get it.

Production is abnormally higher this year because of the large harvest.  Therefore, the 750 ml bottles will not be allocated this year and will be on a first come basis.  There should be enough to satisfy most people wanting this bottle size. Production of splits will be slightly higher and will still be allocated.  Mags and other larger size bottles will remain fairly constant with last year and will reamin allocated.

The 2006 production returns to near 2004 levels.  Therefore we will be forced to return to allocating the 750 ml bottles.  We will base this on balancing your requests for 2006 along with your 2005 purchase.
