      <image:title>Wine - 2019 HBR Merlot</image:title>
<image:caption>Like most other vineyards in the Napa Valley, smoke from the LNU Lightning Complex and Glass fires damaged our grapes from the Pocai Vineyard. So, for the 2020 vintage, we decided not to produce a Cabernet Sauvignon. Fortunately, Ric’s nephew, Mike Henry, made some 2019 Merlot from Henry Brothers’ Ranch which turned out to be our family’s last vintage. We blended 4% Pocai Vineyard 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon with Mike’s HBR Merlot for Karl Lawrence’s first ever Merlot offering. Of the final blend, Mike says “Bold and soft. Spicy black pepper at the end. Long, juicy structure. Round and fun to drink now but can age for a very long time.” $59 - 750 ml bottle Email ric@karllawrence.com for ordering information</image:caption>

Reflecting my heritage, Anam Cara is Irish for “soul friend.” It stands for our understanding and acceptance of each other’s true nature in our shared celebration of life. Jeb Dunnuck states that Anam Cara is “another gorgeous wine from the estate… flawless balance, and a great, great finish.” Lisa Perrotti-Brown says that “Black Forest cake spills from the glass…cedary undertones coming through on the long finish.” Anam Cara is sourced from the Pocai Vineyard, it is 93.5% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 4.5% Petit Verdot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc, and 0.5% Malbec. The tannins are aggressive at first but soften toward velvet and a very long finish.” Sourced from the Pocai Vineyard, Karl Lawrence’s 2021 vintage is 81.6% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 7.68% Cabernet Franc, 5.54% Malbec, and 5.17% Petit Verdot. $85 - 750 ml bottle $170 - Magnum $45 - 375 ml splits Email ric@karllawrence.com for ordering information</image:caption>
